ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
The main reason for starting Emerald City Girls Baseball (ECGB) is simple: girls in the Pacific Northwest lack opportunities in baseball. Many talented female players switch to softball or give up athletics altogether. By creating a space where girls can train and play alongside other young women, we encourage them to stay in the game, both in our girls program and in recreational baseball leagues alongside boys. Building a tight-knit program allows players to share experiences, support each other, and cheer on their teammates.
The program is based in the Seattle area, but it’s open to girls from across the PNW. Players of all ages will have opportunities to train together, fostering growth through mentorship. Younger players can learn by watching older ones, while older players can develop leadership and communication skills by coaching and guiding the younger ones. This training design not only improves baseball skills but also introduces the more experienced players to coaching—another valuable skill—and allows young players to see what is possible for them if they continue to put in the work.
Our vision for the future of Emerald City Girls Baseball is to create a positive environment where girls can grow both as baseball players and as strong, confident young women in a male dominated sport within a male dominated world.

Emerald City Girls Baseball isn't just a baseball program. We are inspiring change in a world that desperately needs it. Our girls are shattering ceilings one at bat at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of your program?
At this time our weekly coaching sessions are available at no cost to our baseball players due to generous support from our sponsors, SeamThreads and Coach CT. It is our hope to continue offering training at minimal cost to our families, but we will keep our families informed as our program develops.
What is the age range?
Our training programs are open to all ages from 5-18.
What equipment is required?
Each ball player needs a helmet, bat, cleats, and glove. If your athlete needs to borrow any equipment please let us know in advance so that we can ensure that we have the appropriate size.
Keep in mind that we practice rain or shine, and here in the PNW, we lean heavily on the rain side. Make sure you are dressed accordingly and bring water!
How can we get onto a team for tournaments?
Our program is in very early stages, so all of our athletes are currently training together until we are able to form teams by age for tournament play. We hope to have Emerald City teams up and running for tournaments in 2026, hopefully sooner! In the meantime, we are connected with girls' baseball teams in other states so that we can place our athletes with teams for travel play in 2025 should you be interested.
